This term refers to arresting bleeding from the inner linings of the stomach or colon. Under certain circumstances, ulcers and mucosal injuries can occur. This injuries may bleed suddenly and endangers a person's life. By applying different haemostatic techniques such as clipping during endoscopy, the bleeding can be stopped effectively.
This is the default method to remove soft tissue growth; also known as polyps; from the inner lining of the stomach and colon. Depending on the size and nature of these growth, different variations such as heat application and metal noose tightening technique may be applied. The final specimens can then be sent to the laboratory for analysis.
